Amit most recently served as President, 1-800-Flowers.com (NASDAQ: FLWS), a leading global ecommerce platform with more than $2B in revenue and 3000+ employees headquartered in New York. Since joining the company in 2010, Amit has held several roles of increasing responsibility, most recently serving as Chief Marketing Officer from 2017 to 2020. In this position, Amit led the overall marketing strategy for the brand across online, digital, social and emerging channels. Under his leadership, the company successfully kept at the forefront of implementing new and emerging technologies across online, mobile, voice, AR/VR and AI. To nurture and grow the entrepreneurial spirit across the company’s portfolio of brands, Amit led the company’s Digital Leadership Program, an incubator for young talent and catalyst for driving innovation throughout the organization. Amit also led the establishment of the product function when he started with the company and has continued to lead it for the last decade. Under his product leadership, the company won many awards on the core online and emerging experiences. Additionally, he managed all innovation partnerships with early stage start-ups and worked closely with entrepreneurs and venture capital ecosystem. In recognition of his digital and marketing leadership Amit was named as “CMO of the Year” for North America in November 2019 by Consumer Goods Institute. Amit has also a long record of contributing to the marketing and technology ecosystem. Since 2013, he has been on the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee of the Mobile Marketing Association, composed of over 800-member companies globally. In recognition of his leadership, he was also elected by members to be the Chair of the Board in 2021. In addition, Amit has provided advisory leadership to leading technology companies including Google Retail Advisory committee, Twilio Customer Advisory panel and various startups. Amit is also a sought out speaker at both US and global marketing and leadership conferences. Amit has also spoken extensively about emerging products and technologies, and recently his podcast interview with MIT on “Learning, Engagement and Empowerment with AI” was voted as one of the most popular in the series. Amit’s work has also been featured in both national and international publications including New York Times, AdWeek, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, Forbes, Business Insider, Sloan Management Review and numerous trade publications. Prior to joining the company, Amit held various strategy and business development roles after starting his career at McKinsey & Company in Boston. He has a master’s degree in Liberal Arts from Harvard University and a bachelor’s degree from Bowdoin College where he was the graduating Valedictorian and winner of International student scholarship. Amit grew up in Kolkata, India and currently lives in New York after having lived and worked in more than ten countries.
